Meme coin name generator

Press the button, get a name and a ticker. Below the tool: 50 ideas sorted by style, the rules that separate a name that spreads from a name that embarrasses, and how to check yours is not already taken.

How do I come up with a meme coin name?

Good meme coin names follow four rules: short enough to say in one breath, spellable after hearing it once, attached to a character or joke you can actually draw, and clean of existing tickers. The formula behind most winners is a familiar word plus one twist: an animal plus a rhyme (Doge), a phrase template (dogwifhat), or a childish modifier on a serious word (Baby, Giga, Turbo). Check the ticker on DEX Screener and CoinGecko before you commit, because a name collision with a bigger token makes you unsearchable. The free generator on this page combines those patterns; the 50-name list below it is sorted by style so you can steal the shape instead of the name.

The generator

Client-side only. Refresh for a new word bank order, press again for a new name. If one makes you exhale through your nose, that is the bar.

The four rules

  1. One breath. If it cannot be said in one breath in a voice chat, it dies in voice chats.
  2. Spellable once heard. A name that has to be spelled out loses every person who heard about it in a Space and tried to find it later.
  3. Drawable. The name and the character are one decision. A name with no drawable subject leaves your designer inventing one, and the joke drifts.
  4. Clean ticker. Search the ticker on DEX Screener, CoinGecko and X before you commit. Sharing a ticker with a bigger token makes you unsearchable, which is fatal for a coin people find by searching.

Check the name is not taken

Three searches, two minutes, in this order: the ticker on DEX Screener (live pairs), the name on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap (listed tokens, including dead ones that still hold the search result), and the name plus "crypto" on X. You are not looking for zero results. You are looking for no active token with real holders. A dead 2021 token with the same name is usually survivable; an active one is not.

One more that people skip: say it out loud to one person who is not in crypto. If they laugh, ship it. If they ask you to repeat it, rename it.

The name is the cheap part

A name costs nothing. What the name needs next is a character that can be redrawn, a logo and brand kit ($297, 24 hours) and a site that sells the joke in five seconds ($497). The full sequence from name to live launch is in how to launch a meme coin.

The questions that come up

What is a good name for a meme coin?

One that is short, spellable after one hearing, attached to a drawable character or joke, and free of ticker collisions. Most winners are a familiar word plus one twist: an animal with a rhyme, a phrase template, or a childish modifier on a serious word.

Is this meme coin name generator free?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser, stores nothing, sends nothing, and does not ask for an email. The name ideas list works without JavaScript.

How do I check if a meme coin name is taken?

Search the ticker on DEX Screener, the name on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap, and the name plus crypto on X. You are checking for an active token with real holders, not for zero results.

Does the name of a meme coin matter?

Yes, but less than what follows it. The name gets someone to look once; the character, site and first five seconds decide whether they stay. A perfect name on a template site still reads as a rug.

Can two meme coins have the same name?

Nothing stops it technically, which is exactly the problem: the bigger token owns the search results, and buyers who search your name find theirs. Treat an active name collision as a hard no.
