Fees read from pump.fun's own documentation on 16 September 2026

How much does it cost to make a meme coin on pump.fun?

Creating the token is free. The platform makes its money on every trade after that, and the things that make a coin look real are not on pump.fun's invoice at all. Here is every fee, in SOL and in dollars, with the source next to each one.

How much does a pump.fun meme coin cost?

Pump.fun charges 0 SOL to create a coin, 1.25% of every trade while it sits on the bonding curve, and 0.015 SOL (about $1.46) when it graduates to PumpSwap. The realistic all-in budget is about $400 for a bare launch with a site and domain, or $1,100 to $1,400 for a proper one.

What pump.fun charges to create a token

Nothing. The pump.fun fee page lists "Create a coin" at 0 SOL or 0 USDC. You still pay the Solana network fee to send the transaction, which pump.fun does not itemize. One third-party token tool puts creation at about 0.02 SOL once rent and metadata are counted, which is roughly $2 at today's price.

Every dollar figure on this page uses a SOL price of $97.25, the CoinGecko quote on 16 September 2026. SOL moves. The SOL amounts are the ones to remember; the dollar column is a courtesy that will be wrong by next month.

Since 21 May 2026 you can also launch a coin denominated in USDC instead of SOL. The fee percentages are the same either way. This page sticks to SOL because that is what nearly everyone still uses.

Fees while the coin is on the bonding curve

This is where the money is. Every buy and every sell on the curve pays 1.25%. Pump.fun splits it 0.30% to you as the creator and 0.95% to itself. There is no LP fee on the curve because there is no LP yet; the curve is the market.

Work the arithmetic once so it stops being abstract. A coin that does $50,000 of volume on the curve, which is a modest run, generates $625 in fees. $150 of that lands in the creator wallet and $475 goes to pump.fun. A coin that does $1 million of curve volume pays $12,500 in fees, and its creator collects $3,000 of that before the coin ever graduates.

Two things follow. First, the fee is not a cost you pay; it is a cost your buyers pay, and it is priced into every chart they look at. Second, the creator share means a coin with real volume pays for its own branding within hours. That is the honest case for spending on the launch: not that it looks nice, but that it moves the volume number the fee is a percentage of.

Most third-party guides still quote the old flat 1%. The pump.fun page says 1.25%. Trust the page. Frog Labs is one independent write-up that has caught up and confirms the 1.25% and the 0.015 SOL graduation fee.

What graduation costs

0.015 SOL. At $97.25 that is $1.46. It is taken once, when the curve fills and the liquidity migrates to PumpSwap, and it is the only graduation charge pump.fun lists.

The trigger is not a fee, it is a threshold. Pump.fun's bonding curve page says the curve closes when market cap hits the graduation threshold, the whole pool migrates atomically to PumpSwap, and the pool is then owned by the protocol. It does not print the number. Independent trackers, including Datawallet's July 2026 guide, put it at roughly 85 SOL in the curve, which the same guides round to about $69,000 of market cap. At today's price 85 SOL is about $8,266 of real SOL that buyers have to commit. That is the actual cost of graduating, and it is paid by the market, not by you.

Fewer than 2% of coins get there. The graduation numbers are worth reading before you budget as if graduation is the default outcome. It is the exception.

After graduation the fee keeps flowing, just on a sliding scale. PumpSwap's canonical pool charges 1.25% at the bottom tier (under 420 SOL of market cap) and steps down to 0.30% at 98,240 SOL and above, with the creator share moving from 0.30% down to 0.05% across those tiers. A graduated coin that trades on a non-canonical pool pays 0.3% total and its creator gets nothing.

What changed, and when

People keep quoting numbers from different years. Here is the sequence, so you know which one someone is repeating.

  • Until March 2025: graduation went to Raydium and cost 6 SOL. The Block records the fee being removed when PumpSwap launched in March 2025 with instant migration.
  • 13 May 2025: creator revenue sharing began on PumpSwap at 0.05% per trade, described by The Block as half of PumpSwap's trading revenue.
  • September 2025: the dynamic fee model arrived, per Datawallet, with creator share and total fee varying by phase and market cap.
  • January 2026: pump.fun let creators split fees across up to 10 wallets and transfer coin ownership, per KuCoin's 10 January 2026 report.
  • 20 to 21 May 2026: the fee page was last updated and USDC-denominated coins went live. The numbers in the table above are from that version.

If a guide tells you creation costs 0.02 SOL and migration costs 6 SOL, it was written for a platform that no longer exists.

What pump.fun does not include

Pump.fun gives you a token, a bonding curve and a page on pump.fun. It does not give you anything that makes a stranger believe a person is behind the coin. That list is the real budget, and it is where the full launch cost guide does the detailed work. The short version:

  • A domain. $10 to $40 a year depending on the extension. No coin that lasted skipped this.
  • A website. Free if you use a template and your own hours. $347 from here, custom, live in 24 hours. What a pump.fun site needs to do is different from a normal landing page, mostly because the buyer decides in seconds.
  • A logo. $0 if you make it, $207 for a logo and brand kit.
  • Telegram. Setting the group up yourself is free. A configured group with bots, rules and branding is $277. A 20-sticker pack is $207.
  • DEX Screener. The listing is automatic and free. Enhanced Token Info, which puts your logo, links and description on the chart page, was $299 when checked in August 2026, paid to DEX Screener. A banner set for DEX Screener, X and Telegram is $97.
  • Your initial buy. Not a fee. It is capital you choose to put in, and you can take it out. Budget it separately and never confuse it with the cost of launching.

None of this is on pump.fun's fee page because none of it is pump.fun's business. Which is exactly why the "it's free" answer, while true, is useless for planning. The step-by-step launch guide puts these in order.

Three realistic budgets

Platform fees are the same in all three. What changes is how much of the work you do yourself and how much you outsource. Prices for the paid lines are this studio's published prices; the DEX Screener line is theirs.

The standard column is the roughly $400 bare launch from the cost guide, and the serious column lands inside its $1,100 to $1,400 proper launch range. If you want the logo and stickers without the whole bundle, add $207 each to the standard column.

The free column works. It also looks free, and a buyer scrolling pump.fun can tell in about two seconds. That is not a moral judgement, it is what the launchpad comparison and the graduation data both say: presentation is one of the few variables a creator actually controls, and most creators spend zero on it.

Whatever column you pick, the pump.fun fees stay the same and they are not the number that matters. The number that matters is what your buyers see when they land on the page, and pump.fun does not sell that.

Asked before every order

Is it free to create a meme coin on pump.fun?

Yes. The pump.fun fee page lists token creation at 0 SOL or 0 USDC. You pay the Solana network fee for the transaction, which third-party guides put at roughly 0.02 SOL, about $2 at a $97 SOL price. The cost of pump.fun is not the creation, it is the 1.25% taken from every trade after that.

What is the pump.fun trading fee?

1.25% of every buy and sell while the coin is on the bonding curve, per the pump.fun fee documentation last updated 20 May 2026. It splits into 0.30% to the coin's creator and 0.95% to the protocol. On PumpSwap after graduation the total fee starts at 1.25% and steps down to 0.30% as market cap grows.

How much does it cost to graduate on pump.fun?

0.015 SOL, about $1.46 at $97.25 per SOL. That is the only graduation fee pump.fun lists. The old 6 SOL migration fee to Raydium disappeared in March 2025 when PumpSwap launched. Graduation itself is triggered by buyers filling the curve, which third-party trackers put at roughly 85 SOL.

Do creators earn money from pump.fun fees?

Yes. Creators receive 0.30% of every bonding curve trade, and a tiered share of PumpSwap trades that starts at 0.30% and falls to 0.05% at the highest market cap tier. Since January 2026 a creator can split those fees across up to 10 wallets or transfer the coin's ownership to another address.

What is the realistic total cost of a pump.fun launch?

Platform fees are close to zero. A bare launch with a custom site and a domain runs about $400. A proper launch with logo, site, stickers, Telegram setup and DEX Screener Enhanced Token Info is about $1,100 to $1,400. Whatever you put into your own initial buy sits on top of that, and it is your money, not a fee.
